Two Guys, a Girl and a TV Set

Three college friends out in the world, filling the void with television…and loving it.

And so it begins…

When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary to tell more than 2 people about last night’s episode…you start a blog dedicated to television.

Two Guys, a Girl and a TV set. That pretty much tells it all. Except we’re not actually all in the same place watching together. That’s an important distinction.

Like many of you, we watch a ton of TV and constantly talk about and analyze each episode. But what good does that do? We decided we needed to get our opinions out there and see what other people think. We’re not newspaper columnists. We’re not in Hollywood. We just love TV and want to share that with all of you. With pictures, videos, links and hopefully humor.

Our main goal for this first month is to be your guide on the new TV season. Too many reviewers see advance episodes then only tell you about the a few of the shows they liked. That’s not good enough. One person’s opinions not good enough. That’s why we’ve got three (and you). We’ve committed ourselves to watching all 21 premieres on the 5 networks (plus more on the cable/premium channels). We’ll grade each show, review them and let you decide by next week whether it’s worth your time. And these days, almost every show’s online, so you should have no problem catching up. If I were into cheesy taglines, I’d say “We watch TV so you don’t have to.” But that’s also pretty much a stolen slogan, so I won’t.

There are certainly other places online to get people’s thoughts on television. But we hope you find that our opinions (or at least 1 of the 3) come pretty close to your own. Three different voices talking about tonight’s shows all in one place. Often we’ll disagree and start little debates…right here on the blog, so you can chime in too.

But there’s more to it than that. We’ll post reviews of old shows from time to time. Things we’re watching on DVD or Hulu, or things we just happened to catch in re-runs. We’ll post video clips, in our entries and on the right side. We love lists, so we’ll be throwing that in too. And if you have any ideas, we’d love to hear them.

This is our way to express our opinions on one of our favorite pastimes…but we hope you benefit from it too. Maybe start watching a show you never considered. Look at an episode in a new way. Laugh to start the morning. It’s a mutual thing.

Oh, and as an important note. We’re all in the central time zone. None of this crazy “primetime starts at 8” stuff.

Another reason ‘We watch TV so you don’t have to’ is a stupid slogan: TV is great. Why would you not want to watch it?

Thank you also, Mr. Feeny, for the political rhetoric shoutout in the first line. I do love me some Declaration of Independence.

I hope you have discovered the ‘Fee-ee-ee-eeny’ facebook group. It’s a good one.
