New on Mondays this Fall
Posted by Mr. Feeny on August 20, 2009
I think it’s about time we start previewing the 21 new shows that will be premiering this Fall. There are several mid-season replacements already known, but why preview those now? There are also a few cable or premium shows that could be good, but we’ll review those separately. These “New on _____s” posts will be limited to the five broadcast networks.
After we preview each show for you, we’ll do one massive post with our predictions. And then the fun really begins as we start watching and reviewing them. Remember, we want your input too! If you like or don’t like the sound of a show, let us know!
Mondays will have the second fewest changes of any weekday. After all, it already has some of the most popular shows on television. Only Friday has fewer changes, and that’s for the exact opposite reason…that nobody cares. But in short, Mondays this Fall will add one comedy, one drama, and one Jay Leno.

Accidentally on Purpose looks like a knocked up rip off – prediction short lifespan
Jay Leno – Never was a fan – prediction longer lifespan
Trauma – Looks like it would make a better movie than a series

I’ll go into this more during our big prediction post…
but I agree with each of those. AoP will be done by mid-season. Leno will have to last at least a year. They can’t scrap the idea midseason, for the simple practical reason that they’d need 5 shows to replace him. And Trauma seems too action-packed for an hour of television every week.

I predict lots of TV viewing discussion with you in the future Captain Renault.

If this were a movie blog, I’d have to use Capt. Renault as my handle.

Casablanca was briefly a TV series.

Oh my goodness. Thank you Blu (and IMDB). I now must find the 6 episodes of this series.
David Soul as Rick? Hector Elizondo as Renault? Plus Ray Liotta? I never knew. The acting must have been fantastic…I assume the scripts, though, were bad.

That’s fantastic. I’m not sure if you knew this when you posted…but slide six, which gives William Daniels “now” summary…includes a mention of an award show that I created. That’s really cool to have it included on a big time website like that! Thank you!
