Emmy Predictions!

Posted by Mr. Feeny on September 19, 2009

Remember, tomorrow we’ll be live blogging at our companion site, We hope you all join us for the 61 Annual Emmy Awards!

The article CJ posted is a much read primer on the Emmy philosophy in general. Yes, it’s a sham. But that doesn’t mean it’s not fun. Also, just to be clear…the addition of an extra nominee in each category doesn’t make this a tougher thing to predict. Those extra nominees have no chance of winning. They’re only there to appease mainstream viewers.

By the way. Fun fact: Neil Patrick Harris is only the third person to host two major award shows in the same year. That means, Oscar, Grammy, Tony and Emmy. Obviously, NPH this year with the Tonys and Emmys. Rosie O’Donnell did it in 2000 hosting the Grammys and Tonys. And Bill Cosby did it in 1970 with the Grammys and Emmys.

Today, I’m going on the record with my picks. I’m inclined to take some risks, and I must admit it’s partially hopeful. But in general, it’s not necessarily who should win but who I think will win. And the order is based on the ballot you can print out at home, right here. I’m leaving out miniseries categories, though, since I haven’t seen them.
