Three college friends out in the world, filling the void with television…and loving it.

Dead Show Pool 2010-2011

Posted by Mr. Feeny on September 30, 2010

Maybe it’s my morbid sense of humor or my borderline gambling addiction, but I love dead pools. It’s always fun to predict which celebrities are going to kick the bucket. Like on stiffs.com.

Even Jon Voight and a shotgun couldn't hold off the blood-thirsty FOX executives

So Marlo came up with an excellent idea to hold our own version of the Dead Pool. But for TV Shows. The Dead Show Pool. It probably would have been better to start this 3 weeks ago, before Lone Star was canceled, but there’s still enough time to have fun with it.

Here’s the basic rules. 1) It must be a show that airs between 7 and 11pm CT (sorry, no Oprah). 2) Its impending cancellation must not have been announced yet (ie, no Smallville, Friday Night Lights or Entourage). Anything else is pretty much fair game, though we reserve the right to disqualify a show.

The process is simple. Pick 10 shows you think will air their last episode between October of 2010 and September of 2011. Your rankings serve as confidence points, like in most bowl pick ’em games. #1 is the show you think is most likely to get canceled. If it is, you get 10 points. #10 is the least likely, 1 point. And everything in between. Also, you get a 5 point bonus if a show is canceled before January.

Just make a comment with your list to play. And yeah…there’s no reward. Except bragging rights. And we’ll let you do a guest column. Or something.
